Campbelltown Arts Centre

Creative Learning and Engagment Officer

I have over six years of experience in the arts and cultural sector and have been employed as the Creative Learning and Engagement Officer at Campbelltown Arts Centre since 2022. In this role, I have developed extensive knowledge of community engagement and built strong expertise in designing and delivering arts programs that connect diverse audiences with contemporary
arts and culture.

Public Programs

Term Programing & Art Holidays

The Creative Learning and Engagement term program reaches more than 5,000 community members across 36 weeks, offering inclusive opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to work with program artists and develop creative skills in social studio environments. Participants explored ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, digital arts, and more.

The seasonal Art Holiday program, delivered over eight weeks each year, engaged approximately 300 young people. Designed for families, these one‑off workshops provided immersive, carefully crafted activities that encouraged discovery, creativity, and the joy of artistic exploration.

International Women’s Day: Metamorphisis.

With Artisit Victoria Garcia

The International Women’s Day 2025 event was delivered through ‘Make Her’, a program dedicated to showcasing and supporting local female artists within Campbelltown’s creative community. Developed in partnership with artist Victoria Garcia, the project brought together 18 participants and four female animation designers from AIT for an intensive watercolour workshop centred on the butterfly as a symbol of growth and renewal.

Guided by Victoria Garcia, renowned for her intricate botanical and nature‑inspired artworks and co‑creator of Campbelltown’s ‘Breathing Life’ mural, participants painted Australian butterflies accompanied by personal messages of hope. Their artworks were transformed into a collaborative animated digital piece produced with AIT and presented at Macarthur Square Shopping Centre, where it was viewed by thousands. The project celebrated creativity, community, and the power of women’s voices through artistic expression.

Seniors Festival: Tong Pop
Great Expectations.

With Artist Telly Tuita

Macarthur’s over-55s were invited to join Campbelltown Arts Centre for the “Reach Beyond” Senior’s Week event for a lively afternoon of art, discussion, and scones. The seniors enjoyed a tour of the premiere survey exhibition “Tong Pop Great Expectations” by Wellington-based artist Telly Tuita.

‘Tongpop’ is a term coined by Tuita to describe his visual language. It celebrates Tuita’s rich relationship with his ancestral home of Tonga and his lived experiences in Australia and Aotearoa (New Zealand).

Exploring communication with oneself in the past and future, over 30 participants created ceramic postcard tiles with Natalie Valiente and Susan Grant, as well as multidimensional self-portraits with Tuita while reflecting on Tuita’s work “Dawn, Day and Dusk,” which focuses on the different stages of life.

Masterclass: Proclain Your Portrait!.

With Artist Marikit Santiago

Fifteen participants joined Marikit Santiago for the masterclass ‘Proclaim Your Portrait!’ and a guided tour of the ‘Proclaim Your Death!’ exhibition, delving into themes of faith and identity through immersive and collaborative art practices.

In this masterclass, the artist guided participants in creating their own portraits while exploring personal themes and a range of creative methodologies. It was an intimate opportunity to learn from Santiago as she shared insights into her artistic practice, creative processes, and storytelling techniques.

MAKE exhibition

MAKE was an exhibition outcome of the creative learning programs hosted by Campbelltown Arts Centre. Featuring artworks produced by over 11 artists across a range of term‑based programs and one‑off masterclasses, the exhibition celebrated the valuable artistic skills, meaningful experiences, and creative connections fostered by these ongoing programs.

With over 15 years of success, the popular MAKE program continued to provide a unique opportunity for attendees to learn from artists, form lasting friendships, and draw inspiration from the Centre’s dynamic exhibitions and events.
